First Aid for Child Carers

HSE approved under licence first aid at work course.

First Aid for Child Carers is suitable for all child minders, pre-school teachers, nannies and nursery nurses.

Duration is a 2-day (12 hour) course, which covers all the topics required by Ofsted and is on a continual assessment basis.

Syllabus includes:

• First aid equipment
• Dealing with unconscious casualties
• Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation for Children and Babies
• Recognition and Treatment for Shock
• Airway obstructions
• Drowning
• Febrile Convulsions
• Asthma
• Treatment for wounds and bleeding
• Hypothermia
• Head Injuries
• Burns and Scalds
• Anaphylactic shock
• Poisoning

First Aid Training Courses

First Aid at Work Training Course
This is an intensive 3-day (18hour) course.

First Aid at Work Requalification
This 2-day (12 hour) course is designed for first aiders who need to re-validate their First Aid at Work qualification before the expiry date.

Emergency First Aid at Work Training Course
This is a 1-day (6 hour) course

First Aid Training Courses for Child Carers
Duration is a 2-day (12 hour) course.

Course packs will be issued to each candidate at the beginning of the course. This pack includes a first aid manual, which should be used for reference during and after the course.
